Terms and Conditions
The services of Setia Movers are subject to the following terms and conditions. Customers must read and comply with these terms and conditions to avoid unnecessary disputes caused by any oversight.
1 Scope of Service
If, on the moving day, items not listed on the pre-arranged inventory need to be transported, customers may request a quotation from Setia Movers’ staff and decide whether to proceed with the move.
2 Fee Structure
Moving charges do not include car park fees, tunnel tolls, or penalty charges for illegal parking. These costs will be charged at actual expense.
3 Limitation of Liability
Setia Movers shall not be held legally liable for any loss or damage arising from delays in the moving process.
4 Payment Requirements
Customers are required to settle all moving charges upon completion of the work, including any additional surcharges such as car park fees, tunnel tolls, and penalty charges for illegal parking.
5 Packing Requirements
Customers are responsible for packing their own items. If Setia Movers is requested to provide packing services, additional packing charges will apply.
6 Installation Services
Setia Movers does not provide installation or removal services for water, gas, or air-conditioning systems.
7 Additional Charges
In circumstances not specified in the quotation, additional charges will apply based on the actual situation, such as:- Flat route fee: every 50 metres (first 50 metres free)
- Additional stair charges
- Platform transfer charges
- On-site quotation for slopes
8 Prohibition of Tips
Setia Movers strictly prohibits its staff from soliciting tips from customers.
9 Customer Responsibility
Customers must verify the quantity of items to be moved. Any disputes must be raised before the moving staff depart; otherwise, claims will not be entertained.
10 Cancellation and Amendment Policy
If a booking needs to be cancelled or rescheduled, Setia Movers must be notified at least three working days in advance. Otherwise, 30% of the moving fee will be charged as a handling fee.
11 Weight Restrictions
Each miscellaneous item must not exceed 25 kg. Charges for overweight items will be calculated on a per-item basis.
12 Special Services
If hoisting or wall-drilling services are required, Setia Movers must be notified in advance. The relevant charges will be specified in the quotation.
13 Storage Services
Setia Movers shall not be held liable for any damage to stored goods caused by force majeure events (e.g. natural disasters).
14 Compensation Standard
For damaged furniture and appliances, compensation is capped at HK$500 per item. For items that become inoperable, compensation is capped at HK$1,000 per item. The maximum total compensation shall not exceed 10% of the total moving fee for that order.
15 Contact Responsibility
Customers must provide a valid contact number and address. If the customer cannot be reached, any resulting consequences shall be borne by the customer.
16 Contract Termination
Setia Movers may terminate the storage agreement by giving two months’ prior written notice. If customers fail to collect their goods, ownership of the goods will be deemed forfeited.
17 Recovery of Outstanding Storage Fees
If storage rental fees remain unpaid for more than one month from the settlement date, Setia Movers reserves the right, without further notice, to donate the goods or dispose of them via public auction for charitable purposes. Setia Movers accepts no liability for any loss arising from such donations or disposals.
